Our History

In 2004, a handful of members from the Nettleton Church of Christ volunteered to start a new congregation south of the Hwy 63 bypass in Jonesboro, AR. These men and their families worked with the eldership of the Nettleton church in finding a suitable location and minister. David Gibson accepted the offer to serve as minister in March, and the small Knights of Columbus building off of Southwest Drive was to be the first home for the new church. Through April and May the new congregation worked to clean and repair the building, readying it for the first service.

The first official worship service for the Valley View Church of Christ took place on June 6, 2004.

The church grew faster than anyone had anticipated and had outgrown its current building situation. A plan to build a new church facility was underway. The elders of the VV church chose a site at the top of a hill on Southwest Drive.

On October 1, 2006 the first worship service was held in the new building.
